Hi folks,
First thing, on behalf of the Intercity committee, please give yourself a big hand, pat on the back, and applause for volunteering and making this year’s 2023 Intercity Tournament a great success. Thank you thank you thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors, you all are the superstars, without you, we wouldn’t be able to hold this wonderful event.
Spoke to many out of towners, for eg. Sheila from Foon Hay, “thank you for throwing a fantastic event”, Len from Sacramento, “thanks for a great weekend”, and many more thanks from others. They loved the tournament and seeing all the familiar faces.
Dinner was a hit and liked by all. Will try to post some dinner pictures later. Hector took pictures and did a wonderful picture slide at dinner and Stephen also went on the course to take some candid and group pictures. Hopefully we can send a link for you all to see.
Now, to the awards. Vancouver represented really well in this department. Please keep in mind there were three mens flights and two ladies flights. We awarded three low gross and three low nets with trophies and golf balls. In addition, we awarded trophies and a sleeve of balls for KP per flight on each course. Congratulations to all the winners and you all represented Vancouver proud.

Now the 4 city Intercity trophy was awarded to….
Before we announce it, we call it a 4 city between Vancouver, Victoria, Portland, and Seattle. Unfortunately, Victoria and Seattle were not able to field enough golfers for their teams. So, it was between Vancouver and Portland only. We had a 50/50 chance of winning. Top 4 low net scores count only and the 5th is the tie breaker, which we never required.
Please give an applause to the following golfers who represented the team, Alice, Edward, Gene, Fernando, and Julan.
Vancouver beat Portland 296 to 320.
So that’s it, just a small recap of the two day event. Wished more of you could have joined in the festivities, maybe next year in Portland.
